Yes, I totally woke up early to watch that royal wedding thing

As a future resident, I felt it my duty to watch that English Event of the Decade. Plus, then I had an excuse to make those crazy fascinators.  Bonus. Later that evening we all went over to Jill and Michael's, and watched the whole thing, with fascinators and champagne!

Easter 2011

Easter was in New Braunfels this year.  Check out last year's post for a great comparison on hunting and cascarone strategies.  What a difference a year makes!

Crawfish Boil 2011

Yes, it's been a while since we've hosted the boil, but we figure with Kyle hitting the big double-three, our house passing 60, the remodel finally finished (more or less - photos coming!), and an upcoming move (surprise! we're moving to England!), it was time to host a party.  We were apparently so busy this year, though, that we didn't take very many photos!  Many thanks, of course, are due to John for a stellar batch, and Erica and Scott for co-hosting.  And thanks to everyone for coming, and taking a few extra pint glasses.  Now we don't have to pack them!
John hard at work on the first batch,
a.k.a. the not-spicy one.
p.s. that's the addition in the background!

You say I'm how old?

Wait, I'm that old too?

You can tell the crawfish have arrived because no one is looking at the camera.

Clean-up the next day.  All of those containers at one time had either live or dead crawfish.

March happenings

We're just chugging along here.  Grandma and Grandpa came for a visit, and it would seem that we lost our camera, as this is the only record we have of their trip:

The Thinkers

Zoe also practiced her jumping skills, first in the kitchen, and then on the bed.

And, we took Lola for a ride.
yes, we tried to get Sophie in there;
if you know Sophie at all, you probably aren't surprised
she's not actually in the wagon.
