And here are Kyle and Mike playing 'swap the baby.' Quinn was about 2 weeks early, and weighed around 6 - 1/2 pounds I believe, but now he's 3 pounds heavier than Zoe - go Lisa! Zoe had a bit of a panic attack in the car on the way over, so she spent the entire nite swaddled and snoozing.

Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging
How much sense does this make? If it's on Amazon, it's not as if the packaging needs to entice the shopper to pull it off of some imaginary shelf anyways...

laundry
I honestly don't know why I bother to change clothes - either mine or Zoe's. An hour later we both end up soaked with at least one bodily fluid. It would ease the laundry burden a ton if we just wore one set of clothes a week. It's not as if I'm really showering every day anyways.
edit: not to mention the floors or the furniture - we should just be living outside in a cave or something.

2 months old!

So, today was Zoe's 2 month birthday and therefore a visit to the pediatrician was also in order. She is now:
weighing in at 11 pounds, 4 ounces (60th percentile)
22.5 inches tall (60th percentile)
head circumference at 38.8 centimeter (50th percentile)
22.5 inches tall (60th percentile)
head circumference at 38.8 centimeter (50th percentile)
After our experiences last year, average is pretty darn appreciated.
We are doing a slightly modified vaccination schedule to limit the amount of aluminum she gets at one time, so she only had one shot and one oral vaccination today. You can just see the bandage on her thigh at the injection site. We'll go back in in 3 weeks to get a couple more shots. Right now Kyle and Zoe are both passed out on the couch. I didn't think I could, so Kyle held her during the shot, and I think they are both wiped out after the ordeal!

Our escape artist

So, Zoe is quite the wiggle-worm. Always moving around. This weekend she spent some time sleeping in the pack-n-play, and would wake up with her body turned a full 90 degrees. Here's a photo of her sleeping in the bassinet - she starts out completely swaddled, and somehow manages to remove just her right arm, while the swaddle still seems tightly wrapped around the rest of her body. This girl won't stay still even when she's sleeping!
Wurstfest 08
Here's a photo of the whole family packed up
for our first weekend trip with Zoe - that's a full car!

This weekend we traveled to Kyle's folks place to enjoy Wurstfest and check out their new house. Very thankful Omi watched Zoe so I was able to go out and enjoy the evening. We saw many friends out there and had a great time. Love those turkey legs! Doesn't the photo below look like some catalog picture advertising trachten?for our first weekend trip with Zoe - that's a full car!

'Clean' Coal
As I've said before, I think Inhabitat is a great site. They recently put up an article talking about what 'clean coal' really means.

Knock on wood, she's still sleeping

So, Zoe put in a stellar performance this afternoon at baby day at the Drafthouse. All of the ladies and babies from our birthing class met up (plus a couple of grandmothers) to go see W on election day. The babies are in birth order - Fletcher, Aidan, Zoe, Quinn and Bodhi. Zoe slept through the whole movie, briefly waking up to feed, and then right back to sleep. She's still sleeping! This is an absolute record in continuous sleeping - if only we could get her to do it sometime between the hours of, say, 10 pm and 8am ;) I'm sure we'll pay for it tonite, but at least the returns will provide some interest, right? Definitely looking forward to our next movie day!

Race for the Cure
We had a great time on Sunday - woke up early, but these days that's nothing new. Did get out the door in a decent time, and fed Zoe twice out there, appropriate I'd say, considering the event. It took quite a while to get through, since there were so many people, but I enjoyed the company - Mom, Zoe, Jessica and Aidan. Jessica's husband Aaron ran his best 5k time, finishing before we were even able to start. And I raised a record (for me) amount of money to go towards Komen Austin - thank you so much to all of you who donated! Here's a pic of Aidan and Zoe enjoying the ride.
VOTE
I'm sure no one reading this needs a reminder, but just in case...
Get Out and Vote Tuesday
Tomorrow is Election Day. Nearly half of all eligible Travis County voters have already gone to the polls, but that means half still must make Tuesday, Nov. 4 a priority for voting, wherever you are. There are many important elections and issues to be decided besides just the presidential election. I find that the League of Women Voters has fair, non-biased reporting on the positions and issues on the ballot. Should be an interesting night tomorrow.

Z's first halloween
Now we're up to 7 weeks!
Mom & Dad have been in town to help out with Zoe - I'll probably add more picts when we get a copy of their photos. In the meantime...

Halloween was surprisingly calm - we hardly had any trick-or-treaters this year, and didn't even get through one bowl of candy to give out. Unfortunately for us, it was a warm evening, so Zoe was not tolerating her outfit very well...And as you can tell, since the pecan trees aren't producing this year the squirrels have been chomping away at the jack-o-lanterns in the neighborhood (notice his teeth).
